Troll Trader Limited
A game changing project for Troll Trader Limited
Troll Trader Limited is an online business serving the table top/miniatures online gaming industry and selling playing cards (predominantly Magic The Gathering cards) from their premises in Cornwall.
Already successful in Cornwall and established in the US, Troll Trader does not want to stop there and is eager to expand internationally. As the gaming market expands, there are no limits to their opportunities.
Their current IT structure uses multiple systems which have worked to get them where they are today.
David Booth approached Superfast Business Cornwall asking for advice on how to build a standardised resilient, professional and secure ICT system and to help to build capacity to allow them to meet the demands of new markets.
“We have large data requirements and want to be able to take advantage of traditional and cloud-based technologies to support the business in its growth plans.”
The Solution – Adopting cloud-based streamlining tools
David worked with Digital Business Enabler, Steve Edwards on a strategy to streamline business processes, increase capacity and efficiencies. This involved implementing cloud-based applications, to free up time to support the business growth and develop new products.
Implementing MS Office 365, Data Management, Security, Business Continuity and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) was fundamental to deal with the increasing demand.
The Impact for Troll Trader
“What a great and growing company to work with. This project for Troll Trader contained key technology elements to support the business now and in the future which will ultimately deliver improved efficiencies and customer service.
Moving some elements of the IT to a cloud-based solution also ensures safe data transfer and will also allow the team access to systems, anywhere anytime.”
David further notes:
“We are planning to hire two new members of staff as an outcome of this project and it will free up time to focus on the future development of increasing our TT Combat product range including the planned growth project in to the USA gaming market.
We didn’t have the capacity before to increase our wholesale customer base in USA but having attended two gaming events there this year, we know there is not only demand but that we can meet customer requirements. We can now target the opportunities.”
Interested in growing your business using cloud-based streamlining software?
What is cloud-based streamlining software and how can it benefit my business?
Cloud computing is essentially pay-as-you-go IT, online and on demand. It involves accessing IT resources (such as applications and storage) over the internet rather than having them on your own PC or network.
The role of system integration is to get all of your software systems and business applications – the ones you have in the cloud and any software you have installed on servers in your office – working together. Benefits can include:
- Boosting productivity – enabling different systems to work together can deliver significant productivity benefits, with employees no longer having to manually input the same data into separate programs
- Streamlining processes – integration can result in greater efficiency by helping to eliminate manual processes, enhance existing IT processes or add value through new features
- Better management information – you can gain an up-to-date overview of how your business is performing far quicker from a single integrated system than if you run several different systems
- Cost – integration can significantly reduce the cost and time involved in maintaining and updating several systems
