Time is running out for businesses to book on to our digital technology event.
In a week’s time businesses in Cornwall will gather at Goonhilly Earth Station to explore the opportunities that digital technology presents. ‘Connect to the Future – how digital technology can help boost your business communication’ is all about how technology can be applied practically within a small business to improve communications, enable businesses to work anytime anywhere, boost growth, save costs and reach new markets. From the evolution of artificial intelligence and collaboration technologies to demonstrating how business can use these to transform the way they operate.
This showcase event has keynotes speakers to inspire, a workshop to demonstrate applications, show and tell from local tech businesses including Flowmoco and TouchByte and advisers available throughout the day to help answer questions on how technology can be adopted into business.
The event is being delivered by Superfast Business Cornwall a service fully-funded by the European Regional Development Fund to help businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly understand, adopt and exploit digital technology for growth. There is no cost for eligible businesses to attend the event.
Speakers on the day will be:
Dr Simon Moores – Former Technology Ambassador for the British Government, Simon specialises in emerging technologies and predicting the future for business in a digital age. He was rated in the Top Ten of UK Tech Thought Leaders in 2014. Simon will look at the many technologies now driving the evolution and direction of businesses of all sizes, including the implications surrounding the arrival of the internet of things (IoT) and advances in Artificial Intelligence AI and machine learning.
Garry Barter – CEO and one of the founders of Cornwall-based Artficial Intelligence (AI) company Hertzian, Garry will describe Hertzian’s experience of bringing AI into the day-to-day operations of an SME and will share his experiences of using external AI-powered tools, the pitfalls of building your own tools and where AI will help in the future.
Ben Whorwood – From local business Mube will run a workshop looking at the various approaches and tools which can help you collaborate more effectively and lay the foundations for greater understanding when working together anytime anywhere.
